Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One ready biodegradation study is available for isopropyl isostearate (CAS No. 68171 -33 -5).

This key ready biodegradability study was carried out with isopropyl isostearate (CAS No. 68171-33-5), following a procedure similar to OECD Guideline 310 and according to GLP (King, 1994). Secondary effluent from an activated sludge plant was used as inoculum. During the 28-day test period, biodegradation reached 85.6%, based on inorganic carbon analysis, and the 10-day window criterion was met.

In conclusion, isopropyl isostearate (CAS No. 68171-33-5) can be considered as readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
