Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
GLP compliance:
no
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
>= 60 s
Remarks on result:
other: Burning time in seconds for a distance of 50 mm, flame stopped after 50 mm.

In the preliminary screening test the the substance showed slow propagation over a distance of about 25 mm within 8 minutes and 30 seconds. After this distance the flame ceased.

Therefore, the combustion was beyond the specified time frame for flammability of 4 minutes for 200 mm. Therefore, the substance is considered to be not flammable and the further testing was not performed.
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
According to the definition in the Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008EEC the test item is not considered as flammable.
Executive summary:

In the non-GLP Klimisch 1 study from Bütfering (2011), the flammability of Sulfosuccinic (isoFA C10)diE, Na was determined according to EU method A.10.. According to the definition in the Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008EEC the test item is not considered as flammable.

This finding is considered reliable for the further risk assessment.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the definition in the Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008EEC the test item is not considered as flammable.

This finding is considered reliable for the non-classification.
