The substance dipropylene glycol ethyl ether is readily biodegradable based on studies available.

In a guideline OECD 301F and GLP manometric respiration study, the substance ethoxypropoxypropanol was found to be readily biodegradable, with a BOD28 of 81%. Degradation of 74% was seen within the 10 day window.
