Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

no explosive properties

Key value for chemical safety assessment

non explosive

Additional information

The test substance contains one chemical group associated with explosive properties, but the exothermic decomposition energy shows less than 500 J/g by a DSC measurement.

Justification for classification or non-classification

-Step1: The substance contains one chemical group "azo compound" which might be associated with explosive properties

-Step2: The experimental determination by DSC on substance showed the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500°C.

The experimental data by DSC indicated that the substance does not have a potential for rapid energy release.

It can be concluded that the substance is not to be considered having potential explosive properties. Thus, it is not to be classified as an explosive material.
