Description of key information

Experimental log Pow at 20°C based on the ration of the solubility in n-octanol and water : -0.27

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
-0.27
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The test item is a surfactant product (surface tension = 52.2 mN/m ± 0.3 mN/m) so the shake flask and HPLC methods (E.U A8) couldn’t be used. In this case, the partition coefficient was calculated by the ratio of solubilities of test item in n-octanol and in water, determined with the flask method. The method used for the experimental determination was consistent to A.6: “Water solubility”, May 2008, the OECD Guidelines n° 105: “Water solubility”, adopted July, 27, 1995 and GLP. A deviation form the guidelines not affected the quality of the study was observed. Due to apparatus problem, the temperature was not recorded during the last 24 hours of the main test. It was checked and the value was stable during the first 48 hours
