The substance is a UVCB. Depending on the variation in the processes used during production of the substance and its macroscopic composition, the particle size distribution varies. Reliable particle size information on cocoa powders is publicly available on the GESTIS database (http://staubex.ifa.dguv.de). The published information is considered to appropriately and accurately fulfil this end-point.
In addition, the particle size distributions of three representative samples of cocoa powder were measured using an optical technique (Kulkarni et al). Based on this method, median aerodynamic diameters of the 3 cocoa powders were determined to be: 12.8, 13.0 and 14 .9 microns.
