Description of key information

Substance decomposes during vapour pressure testing (OECD 104). Because of rapid hydrolysis, vapour pressure of n-butanol, the main degradation product is used in CSA.

Additional information

The isothermal TGA diffusion method by using OECD 104 in accordance with GLP was applied for the determination of vapour pressure of the substance. Vapour pressure could not be determined as the test substance decomposes.

Target substance is hydrolytically unstable. When it comes in contact with water or moisture, a complete hydrolysis will take place with no significant reaction products other than n-butanol and hydrated titanium dioxide. Because of rapid hydrolysis (half-life < 2 hours), read-across data on the vapour pressure of n-butanol released from the substance is used as a key value in CSA (peer-reviewed handbook value, Lide 2008).
