First-aid measures

General advice: In the case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible). First aider needs to protect himself. Move out of dangerous area. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.

If inhaled: If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician. Keep patient warm and at rest. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

In case of skin contact: Wash off with soap and water. Do NOT use solvents or thinners. Immediate medical treatment is necessary as untreated wounds from corrosion of the skin heal slowly and with difficulty.

In case of eye contact: Protect unharmed eye. Small amounts splashed into eyes can cause irreversible tissue damage and blindness. If easy to do,

remove contact lens, if worn. In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

If swallowed: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting: seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label. If a person vomits when lying on his back, place him in the recovery position.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Dry chemical, Dry sand, Alcohol-resistant foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Unsuitable extinguishing media: water

Specific hazards during fire fighting: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire. Hazardous decomposition products may be formed under fire conditions. Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard to health.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Use personal protective equipment.

Standard procedure for chemical fires. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Use water spray to cool unopened containers. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Pay attention to flashback.

Accidental release measures

1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Refer to protective measures listed below. Use personal protective equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist. Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations. Vapours can accumulate in low areas. Immediately evacuate personnel to safe areas.

2 Environmental precautions

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

3 Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.

Handling and storage

1 Precautions for safe handling

Advice on safe handling : For personal protection see below. Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Prevent the

creation of flammable or explosive concentrations of vapour in air and avoid vapour concentration higher than the occupational exposure limits. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Normal measures for preventive fire protection. Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke. No sparking tools should be used. Electrical equipment should be protected to the appropriate standard.

2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Store in original container. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat. Keep away from direct sunlight.

Advice on common storage: Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. Keep away from oxidising agents and strongly acid or alkaline materials.

Other data : No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures

Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection : In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Respirator with filter type A.

Hand protection: Wear suitable gloves. Choose gloves to protect hands against chemicals depending on the concentration and quantity of the hazardous substance and specific to place of work. For special applications, we recommend clarifying the resistance to chemicals of the aforementioned protective gloves with the glove manufacturer.

Eye protection : Wear eye/face protection. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Skin and body protection : Flame retardant antistatic protective clothing Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

Hygiene measures : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

General industrial hygiene practice.

Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas.

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.

Follow the skin protection plan.

Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.

Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

Environmental exposure controls

General advice : Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Stability and reactivity

1 Reactivity: no data available

2 Chemical stability: The product is chemically stable.

3 Possibility of hazardous reactions

Stability: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air.

4 Conditions to avoid

Heat, flames and sparks.

5 Incompatible materials

Materials to avoid : Strong oxidizing agents, Strong acids and strong bases

6 Hazardous decomposition products

Hazardous decomposition products: In case of fire hazardous decomposition products may be produced such as: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and unburned hydrocarbons (smoke).

Thermal decomposition: no data available

Disposal considerations

Disposal: In accordance with local and national regulations. Do not dispose of waste into sewer. This material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste. Do not dispose of together with household waste. Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used.
