Description of key information

A short term fish toxicity study with the test substance was performed according to OECD guideline No. 203 and GLP principles. A flow-through system was used for exposure, analysis showed that measured concentrations were stable during the test period, ranging between 81 and 109% of the target concentration. The 96-h nominal LC50 was determined to be >100 mg/L.

Additional information

In a 96 h acute toxicity study, carp (Cyprinus carpio) were exposed to the test substance at the following nominal concentrations:

- Range-finding test: 0.1, 1, 10 and 100 mg/L

- Final test: 0 (blank control), 0 (acetone control), 4.6, 10, 22, 46 and 100 mg/L

In the final test a flow-through system was used for exposure, and analysis showed that measured concentrations were stable during the test period, ranging between 81 and 109% of the target concentration. The 96-h nominal LC50 value was >100 mg/L. All criteria for acceptability of the test were met and the present toxicity study is classified as reliable without restrictions according to the OECD guideline No. 203.
