Description of key information

Readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of the substance was tested in a guideline study (BASF AG, 1989) following EEC Directive 79-831, Annex V, Part C, 5.2.

Results show that the test substance is readily biodegradable. After 28 days incubation time a degradation rate of >70 % was determined (based on O2 consumption). This result is supported by another biodegradation study conducted according to EU Method C.4-E (closed bolltle test) which shows similar results (68 % O2 consumption after 28 days).
