Description of key information

The ready biodegradability of Dodecane-12-lactam, manufacturing of, by-products from, distillation residues was evaluated in a study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 301 F and GLP requirements.
According to the results obtained, Dodecane-12-lactam, manufacturing of, by-products from, distillation residues is not considered as readily biodegradable but should be considered as inherently biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
inherently biodegradable, not fulfilling specific criteria

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of Dodecane-12-lactam, manufacturing of, by-products from, distillation residues was evaluated in a study performed in accordance with OECD testing guideline 301 F and GLP requirements.

The maximum level of biodegradation was 39% in 28 days (after correction due to nitrification). Therefore, according to these results, Dodecane-12-lactam, manufacturing of, by-products from, distillation residues is not considered as readily biodegradable.

In the test conditions, no inhibitory effect of Dodecane-12-lactam, manufacturing of, by-products from, distillation residues on the micro-organisms of the inoculum was observed.

Validity criteria were fulfilled
