First-aid measures

In case of inhalation: Move victim to fresh air; if necessary, provide artificial respiration or oxygen. Seek medical attention.
In case of skin contact: After contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and plenty of water. Change contaminated clothing. In case of skin reactions, consult a physician.
After eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart. In case of troubles or persistent symptoms, consult an opthalmologist.
After swallowing: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Drink one or two glasses of water. Do not induce vomiting without medical assistance. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Immediately get medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water fog, foam, extinguishing powder, carbon dioxide.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: High power water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Toxic gases may form. In case of fire may be liberated:
Hydrogen cyanide, nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Special protective equipment for firefighters:
Use a breathing apparatus independent of the ambient air (isolated apparatus) and a full
protection outfit (suit) against chemicals.

Hazchem-Code: -
Cool endangered containers with water jetspray.
Do not allow fire water to penetrate into surface or ground water.
Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Keep away from unprotected people.
Avoid dust formation. Wear personal protection equipment.
Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Provide adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to penetrate into soil, waterbodies or drains.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Take up mechanically, placing in appropriate containers for disposal. Avoid dust formation.

Handling and storage

Advices on safe handling:
Provide adequate ventilation, and local exhaust as needed.
Do not breathe dust. Wear personal protection equipment.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Avoid dust formation.

Precautions against fire and explosion:
Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Requirements for storerooms and containers: Keep container tightly closed and in a well-ventilated place. Storage temperature: 2 - 4 °C
Hints on joint storage: Do not store together with strong oxidizing agents. Do not store together with food.
Storage class: 11 = Combustible solids

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Control parameters
Additional information: Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.

2. Exposure controls
Dust should be exhausted directly at the point of origin.

Occupational exposure controls
Respiratory protection: In case of dust: Dust mask ; Particulates filter P2 according to EN 143.
Hand protection: Protective gloves according to EN 374.
Glove material: Nitrile rubber - Layer thickness: 0.4-0.7 mm.
Breakthrough time: >480 min.
Observe glove manufacturer's instructions concerning penetrability and breakthrough time.
Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles according to EN 166.
Body protection: Chemical protection clothing according to EN 13034 (Typ 6)
General protection and hygiene measures: Change contaminated clothing.
When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Wash hands before breaks and after work.
Work place should be equipped with a shower and an eye rinsing apparatus.

Stability and reactivity

1 Reactivity
Accumulation of fine dust (< 0.125 mm) exposed to atmospheric oxygen results in a dust
explosion risk.
2 Chemical stability
Stable under recommended storage conditions.
3 Possibility of hazardous reactions
No hazardous reaction when handled and stored according to provisions.
4 Conditions to avoid
5 Incompatible materials
Strong oxidizing agents
6 Hazardous decomposition products
In case of fire may be liberated:
Hydrogen cyanide, nitrogen oxides (NOx) Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Thermal decomposition: no data available

Disposal considerations

Waste key number: 16 03 05* = organic wastes containing dangerous substances
* = Evidence for disposal must be provided.
Recommendation: Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations.

Contaminated packaging
Recommendation: Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation.
Non-contaminated packages may be recycled.
