Description of key information

The adsorption coefficient for MTCP Crude is estimated to be log Koc = 3.2 (Koc = 1585) on the basis of read-across from a suitable structural analogue.

Additional information

An appropriate structural analogue (3-methyl-5-(2,2,3-trimethylcyclopent-3-en-1-yl)pent-4-en-2-ol), tradename Ebanol, has been tested for adsorption / desorption.

The chromatograms of Ebanol show one peak at an average retention time of 7.25 minutes, corresponding to an adsorption coefficient (log value) of 3.2.

On the basis that the test material (Ebanol) is being used to support MTCP Crude on the basis of read-across, the adsorption-coefficient (log value) of MTCP Crude is considered to also be 3.2.
