Description of key information

The relative density of the registered substance, Reaction mass of disodium N-coco acyl-L-glutamate and sodium N-coco acyl-L-glutamate, has been addressed based on read across to the following three analogues:
Sodium N-coco acyl-L-glutamate: 1.23 at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C, Walker (2008)
Sodium N-lauroyl-L-glutamate: 1.22 at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C, Walker (2008)
Sodium N-myristoyl-L-glutamate: 1.20 at 20.4 ± 0.5 °C, Butler (2008)
All three studies were conducted in accordance with EU Method A.3.
Based on the read across data the relative density of the registered substance can be expected to be 1.2 at 20 °C.

Additional information

The relative density of the registered substance has been addressed using read across to three structurally similar substances, provided as a weight of evidence.

Walker (2008a) determined the density of sodium N-coco acyl-L-glutamate using the gas comparison pycnometer method. Under the conditions of the study, the mean density and relative density were determined to be 1.23 x 10³ kg/m³ and 1.23, respectively. Results were calculated from two determinations at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C.

Walker (2008b) determined the density of sodium N-lauroyl-L-glutamate using the gas comparison pycnometer method. Under the conditions of the study, the mean density and relative density were determined to be 1.22 x 10³ kg/m³ and 1.22, respectively. Results were calculated from two determinations at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C.

Butler (2008) determined the density of sodium N-myristoyl-L-glutamate using the gas comparison pycnometer method. Under the conditions of the study, the mean density and relative density were determined to be 1.20 x 10³ kg/m³ and 1.20, respectively. Results were calculated from three determinations performed at 20.4 ± 0.5 °C.

All three studies were performed under GLP and in line with the standardised guideline EU Method A.3, and were reported with sufficient detail to assess the reliability of the submitted data. Accordingly they were assigned a reliability score of 2 in line with Klimisch (1997).

Based on the read across data the relative density of the registered substance can be expected to be 1.2 at 20 °C.
