Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with point 9.2 of Column 2 (Specific Rules for Adaptation from Column 1) of Annexes VIII and IX of Regulation No. 1907/2006, further degradation testing shall be considered if the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I (of the same regulation) indicates the need to investigate further the degradation of the substance. Furthermore in accordance with points 9.2.12, 9.2.1.4 and 9.2.3 of Annex IX, the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. The substance was found to be readily biodegradable in the submitted screening studies. In these circumstances, the simulation test will provide little additional information since rapid mineralisation in the environment is already assumed. Furthermore, it may be considered that any degradation products formed during such degradation would themselves be sufficiently rapidly degraded as not to require further assessment.
