Description of key information

The auto-ignition temperature of 2-chlorobenzaldehyde is 345 °C at 1013 hPa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
345 °C

Additional information

in a BASF study the auto-ignition temperature of 2 -chlorobenzaldehyde was determined to be 345 °C at 1013 hPa. The Gestis database reports the auto-ignition temperature of 2 -chlorobenzaldehyde to be 397 °C at 1013 hPa and the IPCS International Programme on Chemical Safety reports the auto-ignition temperature of 2 -chlorobenzaldehyde to be 385 °C at 1013 hPa.

Three independent sources report the auto-ignition in the same range. Thus, in a worst case view a flash point of 345 °C at 1013 hPa was chosen as key value.
