Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Test procedure:
burning time (test type not further specified)
Remarks:
or specified in description of method (migrated information)
Remarks on result:
other: The test of the duration of burn down was cancelled, because an independent burning of the test item without contact of the burner flame was not possible.

Any other information on results incl. tables

Primary test:

The test item melted if it came into direct contact with the butane burner flame. The resulting melt was dark-brown. A strong formation of a red-brown and yellowish smoke was observed. A burn down of the bulk cargo did not take place. The test of the duration of burn down was cancelled.

Main test procedure:

The test of the duration of burn down was cancelled, because an independent burning of the test item without contact of the burner flame was not possible.

Evaluation:

The burn down rate of the primary test and the shortest burn down time of the main test are necessary for assessment. If one of the tests shows a duration lower than 45 s to burn down the 100 mm distance, the test item is highly flammable.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The test item is not highly flammable according to EU test method A.10. (solids).
