Description of key information

Direct and indirect exposure of the test item to soil is unlikely. Due to the rapid hydrolysis it can be assumed that upon contact with soil, the test item undergoes rapid degradation within minutes resulting in the formation of respective degradation products. In addition the low octanol-water partition coefficient of the test item (log Kow = 2.92, calculated using EPIWIN, KOWWIN v1.68) indicates a low adsortion potential and a low dwell time of the test item in soil and thus a low exposure. Thus, testing of toxicity to terrestrial organisms was considered scientifically not justified.
