Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No specific adsorption/desorption data were located for hydroxylammonium nitrate or any of the read-across substances i.e. hydroxylamine, hydroxylammonium chloride and hydroxylammonium sulphate. However, it is not considered necessary to specifically test for adsorption and desorption of hydroxylammonium nitrate, due to the evidence available indicating that hydroxylamine rapidly undergoes degradation and has a low log Kow value.

Based on an estimated log Kow -3.6 of hydroxylammonium sulphate at pH 3.2 and 20 °C (BASF AG, 1997 cited in the EU RAR 2008) it is not expected that hydroxylamine will adsorb to suspended solids and sediment. On this basis data for the adsorption/desorption endpoint for hydroxylammonium nitrate has been waived.
