Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Two studies are available on similar test materials: glycerine and polyglycerine. The lowest 96 hr. LC50 value determined from these studies is 2,685 mg/L.

Additional information

The 96 hr LC50 value with Rainbow trout on glycerine was 54000mg/L. Polyglycerine-80, having similar components but more water than the UVCB registered substance, showed no observable effects at 1000mg/L on Fathead minnow (EC50=3356 mg/L, 2,685 mg/L when corrected for water content). Based on the similarity of the test material with glycerine and polyglycerine, the low effects observed in fish, as well as the low toxicity of the reaction mass on inverterbrate and algal (EC50 > 100mg/L), the effect to fish (EC50) is expected to be greater than 100 mg/L.
