Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The surface tension of the substance in water is 46.7 mN/m at 20°C, according to DIN EN 14370, which is equivalent to the EU Method A.5 (Surface Tension).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
46.7
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

The surface tension at 20 °C of a solution of the test substance in demineralized water with a concentration of 1 g/l, was determined by the plate method using a tensiometer. The following result of 46.7 mN/m at 20 °C was received. For verification of the measured values demineralized water is also measured. With a correspondence of the measured value (20 °C) = 72.7 mN/m, to the theoretical value (20 °C) = 72.75 mN/m, cited in literature, the determination of the surface tension of the test item is considered as valid.
