Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

US EPA ECOSAR software (v1.00a) estimated a 96 -hr LC50 value of 37.1 mg/L.
The 48-hr EC50 (growth rate) was determined to be 5600 mg/L for the structural analog ethyl acetate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
37 mg/L

Additional information

US EPA ECOSAR software (v1.00a) estimated a 96 -hr LC50 value of 37.1 mg/L and a chronic toxicity value of 7.4mg/L for isopropyl acetate in green algae.

A reasonably well reported study evaluated the toxicity of ethyl acetate toScenedesmus subspicatus(Green algae) according to DIN 38 412, Part 9 (draft standard). The 48 -hr EC50 (growth rate) was determined to be 5600 mg/L. This result can be considered as applicable to building a weight of evidence approach to determining the algal toxicity of isopropyl acetate.
