Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

No experimental test result on bioaccumulation of EPTAC is available. Therefore, the EU Risk Assessment report presented a BCF estimation based on TGD. Bioconcentration factors (BCF) for fish and earthworm can in principle be estimated according to TGD from certain relationship using known Kow. However, the equation in the TGD is relevant only for substances with a log Kow 1–6 (for EPTAC log Kow < -1.3). In addition for certain types of chemicals e.g. those which ionise in water, log Kow values may not be suitable for calculation of a BCF value. Therefore precaution should be taken to interpret the results from the calculations. BCFs calculated according to EUSES are: BCFFish =1.41 L/kg and BCFWorm = 3.34 kg/kg. Based on calculated BCFs no significant bioaccumulation is expected.
