Description of key information

Degrades rapidly when diluted in water, with the visible formation of titanium oxide as a precipitate within minutes of adding to water.
Half-life not possible to measure, but considered to be less than 30 minutes.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
30 min
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The recorded degradation products are titanium dioxide, propan-2-ol, triethanolamine, diethyleneglycol and propylene glycol.  The organic products are known to biodegrade readily.

Concentrated formulations in water will be stable, but degrades at low concentrations.
