Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The recorded degradation products are titanium dioxide, propan-2-ol, triisopropanolamine and propylene glycol.
These substances are not severely irritaitng to skin and eyes, altough propan-2-ol is classified as eye irritant.
Testing on similar titanates suggest low irritancy.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin irritation / corrosion

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not irritating)

Eye irritation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not irritating)

Additional information

Justification for selection of skin irritation / corrosion endpoint:
Based on read-across to other titanates and assessment of degradation products

Justification for selection of eye irritation endpoint:
Based on data generated for NONS and assessment of degradation products
Since propan-2-ol is perhaps the component most likely to lead to local irritation to eyes, titanium tetraisopropanoate (EC 208-909-6) and analogue substances have been reported for read-across. Some irritation was noted, but not sufficient for classification

Justification for classification or non-classification
