First-aid measures

General advice: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.

Inhalation:
Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of vapours or decomposition products. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
If breathing has stopped, apply artificial respiration.

Skin contact:
Wash immediately, abundantly and thoroughly with soap and water.

Eye contact:
Wash well-open eyes immediately, abundantly and thoroughly with water. Consult an ophthalmologist.

Ingestion: In case of problems : Consult a doctor.

Protection of first-aiders: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Protective suit

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Foam, Dry chemical

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Thermal decomposition giving toxic products : Organic vapours, Carbon oxides

Advice for firefighters: Remove all sources of ignition. Cool containers / tanks with water spray.

Special protective actions for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Evacuate non-essential staff and those not equipped with individual protection apparatus. Prohibit contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of vapours. Use personal protective equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Do not smoke.

Environmental precautions:
Do not release into the environment. Do not let product enter drains. Dam up with sand or inert earth (do not use combustible materials).

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
- Recovery: Pump into a labelled inert emergency tank. Absorb the remainder with an inert absorbent material (Sand Diatomaceous earth)

Handling and storage

Technical measures/Precautions:
Storage and handling precautions applicable to products: Liquid. Sensitizing. Slightly irritating. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery. Provide water supplies, ocular fountains and showers near the point of use.

Hygiene measures:
Prohibit contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of vapours. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Wash hands after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Keep in a well-ventilated place. Protect against light. Protect from heat. Remove all sources of ignition. Provide earthing and safe electrical equipment. Provide a catch-tank in a bunded area.

Incompatible products: Strong oxidizing agents

Specific use(s) (End Use):
The substance is registered as an isolated intermediate with strictly controlled conditions as defined in Article 17(3) of Regulation EC No.1907/2006 and must therefore be handled as such.

Exposure controls / personal protection

CONTROL PARAMETERS:

EXPOSURE CONTROLS:
This substance must be handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3).
Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems must be available at each Manufacturing/using site.

General protective measures: Use high inegrity methods of material loading and unloading. Investigate engineering techniques to reduce exposures. Ensure sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work areas. Routine monitoring and inspection for leaks to reduce fugitive emissions.

Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection: Where airborne exposure is likely wear suitable respiratory equipment.

Hand protection: Splash contact, intermittent and prolonged : Gloves (PVC, neoprene, nitrile rubber) Natural Rubber
Eye protection: Safety glasses
Skin and body protection: Protective suit, Boots

Environmental exposure controls : Do not release into the environment. Use techniques to minimize the emissions : incineration or any treatment to minimize the level of release (ex WWTP).

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity & Chemical stability: the product is stable under normal condition of handling and storage

Conditions to avoid: Protect from light. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Incompatible materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products:
Thermal decomposition giving toxic products : Organic vapours, Carbon oxides

Disposal considerations

Disposal of product:
Destroy absorbed product by incineration at an approved waste disposal site only In accordance with local and national regulations.

Disposal of packaging: Destroy packaging by incineration at an approved waste disposal site. In accordance with local and national regulations.
