Description of key information

The density of reaction mass of 2,2'-oxybisbutane (DSBE), DIPE, SBA and 2-methylpropan-2-ol (TBA) was determined according to OECD 109 resp. EU A.3. The relative density at 20°C was found to be 0.7515.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
0.751

Additional information

Using the pycnometer method, a density of 0.7515 g/cm3 at 20.0 +/- 0.2°C was measured according to the test guideline was OECD 109. Th

is value is the mean of two independent determinations. Standard deviation was 0.0004 g/cm3, showing good correlation of the two determinations. The standard deviation of the two values is a little higher than the maximal error of the single determination, indicating that the error of the determination was a little higher than the calculated value. Correspondence of the values is very good. Therefore, the study is considered valid.
