Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Short-term aquatic toxicity data are available for two trophic levels (fish and aquatic invertebrates). The lowest observed acute effect concentration is a 96 -h LC50 value of 1.9 mg/L as derived from a study with fish (S. gairdneri). Long-term aquatic toxicity data are available for three trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae). The lowest observed chronic effect concentration is a 89 -d NOEC value of 0.13 mg/L as derived from a study with fish (S. gairdneri). Furthermore, the substance is qualified as not readily biodegradable.

Based on all this information, the substance needs to be classified as Aquatic Chronic Category 2, H411 (Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects) according to regulation EC/1272/2008 (CLP). According to the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC, the available ecotoxicological and environmental fate data warrants classification as R51/53 (Harmful to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment).
