Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

After Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. If breathing is difficult give oxygen and go directly to the nearest A&E (or ER) and consult a medic.
After Skin Contact: Wash the exposed area well with soap and water and go directly to the nearest A&E (or ER) and consult a medic.
After Eye Contact: Flush out the eye for a minimum of 10 minutes with flowing water and go directly to the nearest A&E (or ER) and consult a medic.
After Ingestion: Drink water, do not induce vomiting and go directly to the nearest A&E (or ER)
and consult a medic.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Not Carbon Dioxide! Use water or a suitable foam. Contact with acids leads to spontaneous polymerisation.
Special risks: Dangerous decomposition products including Nitrogen Oxide gases and Prussic Acid fumes.
Personnel protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothes

Accidental release measures

Environmental protection: Hold off from drain system, water and soil.
Personnel protection: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothes.
Cleaning: Take up with basic absorption whilst, gathering in stainless steel containers.

Handling and storage

Handling: Only in well ventilated areas, always with NaOH stabilised and quantities as small as possible. Wear chemical protective clothing, face mask and suitable gloves. The glove material must be checked to ensure that it is suitable for handling Ethyleneimine!
Storage: Storage, of as small a quantity as possible, should be stabilised with NaOH in stainless steel bottles. Incompatible storage materials are
rubber and other plastics. Transport must be small, portable, in 3 bar pressure rated high-grade stainless steel bottles in
accordance with GGVS, Rn 2601(4) and Rn 2605 (1).

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection: Respirator fitted with Gas Filter K (Green).
Eye protection: Full Face Mask
Hand protection: Gloves made from suitable material. The integrity of the glove material and the glove fit should both be checked for suitability
before use.
Body protection: Chemical protective suit class 1
Industrial hygiene: Shower with water before removing gloves or any other safety clothing. Before changing into normal clothes at the end of the
work period wash hands and shower thoroughly. Separate storage areas must be provided for work and normal clothes to prevent cross contamina
tion. Strict personal hygiene should be maintained.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to be avoided: All acids including trace quantities! Storage above ambient temperatures. Free (unstabilised) Ethyleneimine without sodium
hydroxide pellets.
Substances to be avoided: Acids of any kind which can cause explosive polymerisation.

Disposal considerations

Product: Dissolve or mix the material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber;
observe all federal, state and local environmental regulations.
Packaging: Treat as chemical waste for disposal
