Description of key information

A biodegradation study (OECD 301B) with the substance showed 23% degradation. The test substance is therefore considered not readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

Pre-solubility tests indicated that the test substance was virtually insoluble in water, therefore the test substance was dissolved in acetone, applied to a filter paper and evaporated to dryness. Pieces of filter paper were included in the medium with inoculum.

The test substance was tested in a CO2 evolution test after being applied to filter paper (10 mg C/L). The filter paper was dispersed in the medium with inoculum for 29 days. The test substance attained 23% degradation and is therefore considered not readily biodegradable (Harlan 2012d).

The analogue substance was reported to be not readily biodegradable in a closed bottle test (Lamberti 2000)
