Description of key information

No significant degradation is expected

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Experimental data on the biodegradation of 3,3’,5,5’-tetramethyl-4,4’-diaminodicyclohexylmethane in soil are not available. As the substance is neither considered as readily nor as inherently biodegradable, no significant degradation is expected. Due to the results of the OECD test results significant biodegradation cannot be expected for the substance in the environment. This finding is supported by the chemical structure of the substance which indicates a low potential for biodegradation. Therefore, no further tests on biodegradation are performed because it is not expected that further testing will significantly change this assessment.
