Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results: HPLC method

Details on results (HPLC method):
The adsorption coefficient Koc was determined based on a calibration curve using 8 reference items. In order to confirm the result obtained in this study for the log Koc value of DDT an additional measurement was performed subsequent to this study at a higher concentration rate. The capacity factors k’ were calculated from the dead time and retention times of the reference substances. The log k’ data of the reference substances were plotted against their log Koc values. F 213 Red eluted after all reference substances.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
In the course of the adsorption/desorption study the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of F 213 Red was estimated, using high performance liquid chromatography. The test item eluted later than the reference substance with highest Koc (DDT). Therefore, the Koc of the test item is above the calibrated range. In conclusion, the estimated log Koc: > 5.0. The quality criteria were met, as values of log Koc derived from individual measurements fell within a range of 0.25 log units and the correlation coefficient R was >0.95.
Executive summary:

The log Koc was estimated at > 5.0.
