Additional information

In a read across study according to OECD guideline No. 202 the short-term toxicity to daphnia of 9-octadecenoic acid sodium salt (CAS number 143 -19 -1) was assessed. The test duration was 48 h. The LC50 based on immobilization was determined to be 24 mg/L.  Additionally, a publication is available in which the LC50 (24 h) value based on mobility for 9-octadecenoic acid sodium salt (CAS number 143 -19 -1) determined in an acute toxicity study in daphnia (Daphnia magna) is given as 4.2 mg/L (original source: Huber, (1991). Untersuchungen über die Elimination, den biologischen Abbau und die aquatische Toxizität von Seifen in Wasch-und Reinigungsmitteln. Bundesministerium für Forschung und Technologie. Kfk OTWT F ozwa 86:731ff). As the test duration used to determine this value was only 24 hours instead of 48 hours, this study record was chosen to be the supporting study.
