First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse continuously with water for at least 15 minutes.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated
clothing and launder before re-use. Seek medical attention
if irritation occurs.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam and water fog may be
used. Water-jet should not be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (cf 2.3.1). Absorb
spillages with a suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil).
Carefully transfer the spillage to labelled containers, or
use a sealed industrial vacuum machine. Dispose of at a
landfill site or by incineration in accordance with local
regulations.

Clean the spill site with water and detergent, do not allow
aqueous waste to enter water-courses.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be handled under conditions of good
industrial hygiene. Ensure adequate ventilation, wear
appropriate personal protective equipment (chemical
protective gloves to a minimum standard of prEN374, goggles
capable of giving protection as classified in prEN166, and
skin protection, eg. impervious apron to a minimum standard
of EN368). A suitable respirator may be required.

Storage: Store in sealed containers at ambient temperature away from
sources of ignition.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Substance: Transported and stored in bulk tankers.

Preparation: 200 litre drums, 1 and 4 litre plastic or foil
wrapped containers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery of the substance for recycling is not feasible.
However, used oil should be sent to collection centres for
reuse.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Spillages of solutions mixed with inert material (eg. sand
or soil) may be disposed of by landfill at an authorised tip
in accordance with local regulations. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration at a
suitable facility.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended. The substance should not normally be
discharged directly to the sewage system or the aqueous
environment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recycling of the blended substance may be possible.
Otherwise used oil should be disposed of according to local
regulations. (B612)

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Small quantities may be disposed of by incineration if mixed
well with other waste.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to
the sewage system or the aqueous environment.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Used oil should be disposed of according to local
Regulations for recycling.
