Five valid aquatic toxicity studies are available: a 96-hour study in fish (Oncorhynchus mykiss); a 48 -hour study in Daphnia magna; a 72-hour study in Alage (Selenastrum capricornutum); a 21 day long term Daphnia Magna reproduction study and an activated sludge respiration inhibition test.

Due to the low water solubility of the registration material, nominal concentrations or WAF loading rates were used to set the dose groups in each study.

Adverse or toxic effects were observed in all aquatic toxicity studies with the following results:

Oncorhynchus mykiss (LL50 (96h) = 1.5 mg/L; OECD 203)

Daphnia magna (EL50 (48h) = 0.09 mg/L; OECD 202)

Selenastrum capricornutum (ErL50 (72h) = 0.31 mg/L; NOELr (72h) = 0.13 mg/L)

Daphnia magna (NOEL reproduction, mortality and growth = 0.14 mg/L; LOEL reproduction = 0.35 mg/L).

No significant adverse effects were observed in an activated sludge respiration inhibition test up to the highest concentration tested (NOEC >= 50 mg/L).
