Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove victim from contaminated area into fresh air.  If

breathing difficulties arise, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes.  Seek

immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing immediately under safety

shower.  Wash skin thoroughly with plenty of soap and water.

Seek medical attention if necessary.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry chemical, foam, carbon dioxide.

Water or foam may cause frothing; use water to cool

fire-exposed containers.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon and nitrogen may be formed on burning.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear full protective equipment.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: All clean-up workers should wear protective clothing as

described in Section 2.3.10.

Contain the spill by diking with an absorbent material.

Shovel up into a vessel suitable to contain the material

until disposal in accordance with Section 6.1.30.

Handling and storage

Handling: All handlers should be supplied with and wear rubber gloves,

rubber footwear, a face shield with a filter conforming to

BS 2092 and half mask respirator conforming to BS2091 fitted

with a filter for organic amines.

Full protective overalls should also be worn.

Handling should only occur in well-ventilated areas. Process

equipment should be provided with exhaust ventilation.

Storage: Store at room temperature in storage drums of volume 55 US

gallons made of Carbon Steel.

Keep substance away from sparks and flames. Take measures to

avoid build up of static charge by employing adequate

grounding.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be packaged into storage drums of volume

55 US gallons made of Carbon Steel.  However the following

containers may also be used:

1. Standard ISO containers (approx. 20 tonnes capacity)

2. 1 cubic metre ISO Bulk Containers (IBCs)

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It would be possible to recover the substance by complete

product hydrolysis, employing a strong hydrolysing agent to

produce a ZF-10 adduct.  However, this is not recommended by

the notifier.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No product specific method to neutralise the harmful or

corrosive effects of the substance is known.  However, in

consideration of instructions that are often issued for

amine catalysts, it is suggested that citric acid or vinegar

may be used.  If this is not feasible, then destruction is

recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is recommended in a licensed facility at a

temperature above 1200°C. Stack gases must be scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
