Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure to fresh air. Keep patient
warm. If breating difficulties occur, seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the
eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes. Transfer to
hospital to obtain specialized medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. After contact with skin wash
immediately with plenty of water. If irritation occurs,
obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Thorougly wash out mouth and throat with water. Drink 1/4
liter of milk or water. If larger amounts were swallowed,
transfer to hospital.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, dry powder or CO2.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen and a small amount of sulphur dioxide.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear fully protective clothing and self containing breating
apparatus in fire conditions.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Transfer to a container for disposal. Wash the spillage
areas clean with water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Minimal protective
clothing : gloves, eye protection for dust.
When handling greater volumes or spills : avoid formation of
dust. Use dust mask or other suitable protection against
inhalation of dust.
Storage: Keep container tightly closed.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Packaging for transport: in UN-agreed fibreboard drums with
inner plastic bag.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery is not possible
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not recommended
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Discharge to water of concentrated solutions is not
recommended. Discharge of solid substance on waste disposal
site is not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal by incineration above 1100 Deg C, in an agreed
center for treatment of hazardous waste, is recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The discharge to waste water purification plants is only
recommended for diluted solutions.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance does not enter the public domain
