Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move the affected person away from the contaminated area.

Make the affected person rest. If necessary, seek medical

advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately rinse with water for a prolonged period whilst

keeping the eyes wide open. If irritation persists, consult

a doctor.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash with

soap and water. In case of inflammation (redness,

irritation, ....) obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: All extinguishing agents can be used water, foam, powders,

carbon dioxide, sand).

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a

fire, evolving noxious fumes, oxides of carbon and

phosphorus.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protecive clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the case of accidental spillage, any spread of the

substance should be prevented by constructing temporary

dikes using a suitable inert material.  Whilst wearing

personal protective equipment, the substance should be

shovelled into a UN-approved container for recovery.  If

recovery is not possible, the substance should be disposed

on through a licenced waste disposal facility according to

local laws and regulations.

The substance should be prevented from entering drains or

watercourses.  The authorities should be informed if a

spillage has entered a watercourse or sewer, or has

contaminated soil or vegetation.

Handling and storage

Handling: The product is air-sensitive and is supplied in containers

sealed under nitrogen.  The containers should be kept

tightly closed when not in use.

The substance should be stored, handled and used under

conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with

any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the

substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled,

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate

international or national standards as follows:-

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard EN166

Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be

used, it must be capable of adequately controlling

exposure, be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the

appropriate international or national standards.

These measures should be regarded as a minimum.

Storage: The product is air-sensitive. It should be stored away from

oxidising or flammable materials. The storage area should be

cool, dry and well-ventilated.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Product packed in 1 kg units in plastic-lined glass bottles,

overpacked with vermiculaite in UN-approved cardboard

cartons.

Danger other than fire: Avoid exposure to air, oxygen or oxidising agents.  Thermal

decomposition may generate oxides of carbon and oxides of

phosphorus.
