Experiment start date - 09 July 2003; Experiment end date - 12 July 2003; Study completion date - 28 August 2003.
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Identity: FAT 40812/A
Batch: WP 8/03
Purity: approx. 75 %
Appearance: Solid, dark red-brownish powder
Expiration date: 23 April 2010
Storage: At room temperature at about 20 °C
Water solubility:
>= 419 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
other: No data on pH.
Details on results:
After mixing a total of about 4 g of test item with 6 mL of water, a dark-red, high viscous solution was obtained. It was scarily possible to decide by visual judgement if complete dissolution was achieved. The water solubility of FAT 40812/A might therefore be higher than determined in the present study.
Conclusions:
The water solubility of the test substance is ≥419 g/L at 20 °C. The test item is considered to be very soluble (>10000 mg/L).
Executive summary:

In a GLP-compliant study, performed according to EU method A.6, the water solubility of the test substance was determined. Based on the findings of this study, the water solubility was determined to be ≥ 419 g/L at 20 °C. The test item is considered to be very soluble (>10000 mg/L).

Description of key information

In a GLP-compliant study, performed according to EU method A.6, the water solubility of the test substance was determined to be ≥419 g/L at 20 °C (RCC 2003).

Key value for chemical safety assessment
