Results and discussion

% Degradation
Parameter:
% degradation (O2 consumption)
Value:
69
Sampling time:
28 d
Details on results:
The 10 day window criterion is not fulfilled (13% biodegradation on day 2 and 58% on day 12).This should be attributed to the structure of the test substance; GR-86-0999 undergoes rapid, abiotic primary degradation (hydrolysis, isomerisation and decarboxylation) in the test conditions. Therefore the test substance is not viewed as a single substance by microorganisms. The products of the primary degradation are sequentially degraded, often by different microroganisms. The 10-Day window criterion should therefore not be used as a pass fail criterion, and , under these circumtances can be waived.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
readily biodegradable
Conclusions:
Thus, GR-86-0999 should be regarded as readily biodegradable according to this test.
