Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, dry chemical and carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen, together with some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1. Small
spillages should be absorbed onto porous inert material such
as sand, earth or vermiculite and disposed of in accordance
with local regulations. Large spillages should be contained
by the use of sand or other inert material, transferred to a
suitable container and recovered or disposed of in
accordance with local regulations.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It may be possible to recover spillages by careful
distillation after suitable recovery techniques have been
employed.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance may be disposed of by incineration at a
suitabe facility using waste gas treatment to remove oxides
of nitrogen (A660).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: When incorporated into fragrances or final consumer products
there is little possibility of recovering the substance.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Consumer products will only contain low levels of the
substance and should thus be suitable for disposal by land
fill. Depending on the nature of the consumer product
flushing to the drains with plenty of water should not pose
any risk to the environment.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Depending on the nature of the consumer product incineration
is the recommended method of disposal.
