First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove promptly to fresh air.  If not breathing, administer

artificial respiration.  Administer oxygen if breathing is

difficult.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush immediately with copious amounts of water or saline,

including under eyelids.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water. Remove contaminated

clothing. Seek medical attention if reaction occurs/persists

.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting.  Seek medical advice if adverse

reaction occurs and persists.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry powder, carbon-dioxide, foam.

Product arising from burning: None known, but may produce toxic fumes including oxides of

carbon, nitrogen and sulphur.

Protective equipment: Full protection by suitable clothing and positive pressure,

self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the case of a large spill; A self-contained breathing

apparatus should be used to avoid inhalation of the product.

Suitable protective clothing and chemical resistent gloves

are required.

In the case of a smaller spill: PPE as described in section

2.3.00 is required.

Environmental precautions during spill recovery and clean-

up: Avoid contamination of surface waters. Vacuum or sweep

up material and place into a suitable container.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be used only in well ventilated work

areas. Dusts of this product should not be breathed in.

Engineering methods to prevent or control exposure below the

permissable exposure limits should be used. Use process

enclosure (eg. glove-box units), local exhaust ventilation

or other suitable engineering controls to control airborne

levels.

The following PPE should be worn:

Respiratory protection: Wear a suitable respirator designed

for achieving a high level of filtration to dust such as

powered respirators or full-face masks with a P3 filter (EN

12941, EN 12942 & EN 166/EN 136, EN 141, EN 143 & EN 166).

Hand protection: Impereable gloves (eg. nitrile gloves to EN

374)

Eye protection: If respirator does not already provide eye

protection, wear safety glasses or goggles conforming to EN

166.

Body protection: Wear Tyvek or similar overalls (eg. to PREN

13982-1-2, PREN 13034) If contaminated, must be removed

whilst wearing a respirator and disposed of in an

appropriate manner.

Storage: Cool (< 10 degrees C, where possible) protected from light.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be packaged into double anti-static

polyethylene bag-lined 30 Litre HDPE drums.
