Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air, seek medical attention. In all cases
remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing
before re-use.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for fifteen minutes, seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash exposed area with water for at least fifteen minutes,
seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Administer water and activated charcoal, seek medical
attention. Do not induce vomiting, especially in an
unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides
together with hydrogen cyanide gas and soot. Use water as
an extinguishing agent. Wear a self-contained breathing
apparatus and skin protection.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Cover spill with sodium carbonate and sweep up. Dampen
remaining dust with water. Prevent material from entering
sewers and waterways. Dispose of the substance by
incineration at an approved facility if it cannot be
recycled for use.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid contact, ingestion and breathing vapour or dust.
Avoid exposure by using engineering controls (containment,
extraction equipment, etc) or, if necessary, by proper
protective equipment and clothing (neoprene) gloves,
chemical apron, protective footwear, goggles and approved
pesticide respirator or airline mask. Wash contaminated
clothing and shoes before re-use. Handle in a
well-ventilated area. Do not consume food, drink or tobacco
in areas where they may become contaminated with this
substance.
Storage: Store in a cool place. Keep container tightly closed.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Uncontaminated material may be reworked or recycled to meet
product specification. Contaminated and
out-of-specifications material must be destroyed.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No specific recommendations for neutralisation of
environmental spills or contamination.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal at a licensed waste incinerator is the only
practical means of disposal.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
