First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move exposed person to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water. If irritation occurs, seek

medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam and carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen together with some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing.

Sweep up wet powders with water, for liquids absorb using a
suitable absorbent material (eg. kieselguhr, sand, saw dust
etc). Transfer to labelled containers and dispose of by
incineration in accordance with local regulations. Wash
spill site with water. Prevent release to water courses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Observe the usual precautions
for handling chemicals. If the substance is handled as
powder, avoid inhalation and contact with skin and eyes.

Wear suitable protective gloves, safety goggles and a dust

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers at room temperature.

Avoid dust residue outside the containers.

Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene-drum in sealed cardboard-

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not reasonably practicable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method using temperatures >800 deg C. Waste gas
treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not suitable.

If, however the substance should enter a water purification
system it can be removed by membrane filtration or by
treatment with ozone. The most effective method is the
membrane filtration: more than 99% of the remaining dyestuff
can be removed from the waste water.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form
of dyed articles which can be disposed of as domestic waste.
