Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- experimental study planned
- Study period:
- The test will be conducted after a decision on the requirement to carry out the proposed test has been taken according to the procedure laid down in Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 and a deadline to submit the information required has been set by the Agency.

- Guideline:
- OECD Guideline 225 (Sediment-Water Lumbriculus Toxicity Test Using Spiked Sediment)
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- A reliable analysis of Nb in the overlaying water phase is not expected to be feasible: Due to the particulate properties of the test item, the test item is expected to be inhomogeneously distributed in the overlaying water phase. This might cause a huge variability in the measured concentrations, which thus do not reflect the real exposure of the test organisms to the test item. Varying measured concentrations and the presence of particles in the test medium was already demonstrated in the aquatic toxicity tests with Daphnia magna and Raphidocelis subcapitata, performed according to OECD Guideline 211 and 201 (2022 and 2022).

Description of key information
A sediment toxicity long-term test according to OECD Guideline 225 (Sediment-Water Lumbriculus Toxicity Test Using Spiked Sediment) will be conducted after a decision on the requirement to carry out the proposed test has been taken according to the procedure laid down in Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 and a deadline to submit the information required has been set by the Agency.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
Concerning the required chemical analysis of Nb in the overlaying water phase, it is expected that a reliable analysis of Nb will not be feasible: Due to the particulate properties of the test item, the test item is expected to be inhomogeneously distributed in the overlaying water phase.
