Description of key information

One experimental study according to OECD 301 F indicated that the substance is readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria. Therefore, the degradation via abiotic hydrolysis is not considered to be a relevant degradation pathway in the environment. Considering the water solubility of 126 mg/L and the moderate potential for adsorption to organic soil and sediment particles, the main compartment for environmental distribution is expected to be the surface water. However, the Henry’s Law Constant of 536 Pa m³/mole at 20 °C as well as the vapour pressure of 4.27 hPa at 20 °C (OECD 104) indicate potential for volatilization of the substance from the water phase to the atmospheric compartment.
