Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.  Seek medical attention if symptoms

appear.  If not breathing, give artificial respiration.  If

breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of water for 15

minutes.  Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash off with soap and water.  Seek medical attention if

symptoms appear.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting.  Drink plenty of water.  Seek

medical attention if symptoms develop.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Normal extinguishing media may be used (e.g. water, carbon

dioxide).

Product arising from burning: Carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O), nitrous oxides (NOx),

hydrogen chloride (HCl).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire-fighters should wear full protective clothing and

self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Vacuum or scoop up spilled material and place in appropriate

labelled containers for disposal.  Use personal protective

equipment (e.g. latex gloves, eye protection) and removable

outer garments to avoid excessive contact.  Keep unecessary

personnel away from spill area.  Avoid contact of spilled

material and run off with soil and surface waterways.

Handling and storage

Handling: Minimize exposure by use of standard occupational hygiene

procedures.  The use of a respirator (EN-149, Type 2) and

latex gloves when handling the solid is recommended.

Storage: Store 70-80kg in a plastic liner in fibredrums at ambient

(<30°C) temperatures.  All containers will be correctly

labelled, properly sealed and secured.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Substance is comsumed in use.  Spilled material may be

reuseable if analytically uncontaminated.  It is anticipated

the total amount of substance will be consumed/converted

during the process.  However any excess will be incinerated.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, should substance remain/exist it will be

incinerated.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Controlled release is non-inhibitory to activated sludge

sewage bacteria.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: May be incinerated.  Waste gases contain nitrous oxides and

a small amount of hydrogen chloride.

Method A: 641.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.  Substance as notified will not enter the

public domain as any excess will be destroyed by

incineration.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.  Substance as notified will not enter the

public domain.

(See Section 6.2.1)

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.  Substance as notified will not enter the

public domain.

(See Section 6.2.1)

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.  Substance as notified will not enter the

public domain.

(See Section 6.1.3 Incineration)

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.  Substance as notified will not enter the

public domain.

(See Section 6.1.3)

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable.  Substance as notified will not enter the

public domain.

(See Section 6.1.3)
