Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The surface tension of solutions prepared at nominally 1.1 g/L of test item in water and diluted to 90 % saturation was determined to be 47.5 mN/m at 21.4 ± 0.5 °C and the substance was considered to be surface-active. The observed surface activity was considered to be due to a portion of the test item that comprised slightly water soluble/dispersible components; the remaining portion of insoluble components was considered to have little or no effect on the surface activity (OECD 115 and EU Method A.5). The critical micelle concentration of the test item was determined to be approximately 1 g/L at 22 ± 2 °C (OECD 115 and EU Method A.5).

Additional information

The surface tension and critical micelle concentration determinations were carried out using a ring method designed to be compatible with OECD 115 (27 July 1995) and Method A.5 Surface Tension of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 (30 May 2008).
