Description of key information
Sediment toxicity is not relevant for CS2. CS2 has no affinity for sediment, its log Koc value equals 1.5 (its log Kow value equals 2.7). A log Koc < 3 can be considered as a cut of value for sediment affinity, according to the ECHA guidelines. In addition there are no direct emissions to the surface water or the soil. Furthermore the half life of CS2 in surface water due to evaporation is between several hours to several days.
