Phototransformation in air

No experimental data are available. Under REACH, this information is not mandatory to provide, however, the phototransformation in air was determined with the help of the computer program AOPWIN v1.92 (EPIWIN software) of US-EPA (Chemservice S.A., 2011). The estimation is based on the gas-phase reaction rate for the reaction between hydroxyl radicals and the test substance. In this case an overall gas-phase reaction constant (also called OH rate constant) of 44.02 E-12 cm³/molecules-sec (= 0.0000038 cm³/molecules-day) and an atmospheric half-life of 0.243 days (around 2.913 hours based on a 12h light day) was calculated. Neither an ozone reaction nor any nitrate radical reaction is important for the chemical. This modelling is a scientifically accepted calculation method and is therefore reliable with restrictions and can be used for the chemical safety assessment.

Hydrolysis

The test substance was found to be hydrolytically stable at pH 4 and 7 and a surrounding temperature of 25 °C. At pH 9 (also 25°C), the half-life is estimated as 52.3 days with a rate constant of 5.52 x 10E-4. These results were presented by a study conducted in accordance to EU Method C.7/OECD Guideline 111 by Tarran (2012).
